Can heartburn/ acid reflux make your arm go numb?
I have acid reflux, am supposed to take meds but I haven't been for a year because I can't afford it. The acid reflux gives me chest pain, but it also makes my left arm hurt and go numb and I get bad headaches. My friend kinda scared me and told me that's what happened to her dad when he had a heart attack. My family has a history of heart problems in both sides my grandparents. I did think it was the unattend reflux but now I'm kinda freaked out.
The arm pain didn't start until 3 weeks ago, so it's a new symptom.
I'm 22, and I don't feel it now, but my friend that told me that gave me asprin to take. I'm actually going to see a doctor tomorrow for something different I can mention it then.
It happened b4 I was diagnosed without the arm pain and after I stopped taking the meds. The arm going numb didn't start until recently.
My brother had a severe case of acid reflux, but said he'd
wait till his doctor came back from vacation in 2 days to go have it checked out.....He was 42....He died before he got to see the doctor of a major Heart Attack.
