reccomend a good detox diet?

lately ive been suffering from frequent heartburn and sour stomach. overall my eating habits are very poor and i am a moderate drinker (beer mostly) any ideas for a 1-2 week plan that could detox my body and get me on track? Alot of fruits and vegetables would be good

I recommend good nutrition over a fad diet anytime...

FIBER
The fiber from the fruits and vegetables will definitely put you on the right track. And instead of drinking juice, eat the whole fruit because the sugar to fiber ratio is much lower. Adding whole grain foods will help to detoxify your body from a cholesterol perspective (the toxins will bind with the fiber in your stomach, then out it goes into the toilet.)
For fiber, get a combination of both soluble and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber can be found in oatbran and will stick around longer to allow the toxins to bond to it. Insoluble fiber (fruits/vegetables) is for regularity.

SUGAR
Cutting down on processed sugar makes your body less acidic. An acidic body is more prone to diseases like cancer. And it's not just sugary foods that do it...things like processed foods (white rice, pasta, and beer) can break down into sugar. Go for the less processed version (brown rice, wheat pasta). The longer it takes to digest something, the better (complex carbos). Refined or processed foods are too easy for the body to digest; hence the rise in body sugar and fat.

HYDRATION
Make water your main source of hydration. It's okay to enjoy a soda or beer with a meal...it often complements the food quite well...just don't rely on it for primary hydration throughout the day.

PROBIOTICS
Getting the right bacteria in your stomach is key to excellent digestion and prevention of heartburn. A lot of heartburn is caused by too much acid. Good sources of probiotic bacteria: yogurt, probiotic bars (expensive), 'yakult', and recently I learned pickles can help. By the way, for me, the fastest way to neutralize a sour stomach with acid reflux is by eating a banana...it was much faster than Tums.

ALKALIZING FOODS
Again, the idea that your body is prone to sickness when it is too acidic. Look for alkalizing foods to balance. Unfortunately, most of the foods we enjoy are acidic. You should experience less heartburn if you can at least neutralize your diet.

SNACKING
Keep an eye on what you routinely eat when you are on 'autopilot'. I echo Lola's recommendation for eating nuts. Nuts have lot of oils that are actually good for you and help lower the bad cholesterol. Some people say you can never get fat from eating nuts.

As for the toxins that are already stuck in your body, try doing Yoga or some deep stretching. The twists will release lactic acids from your muscle, which you will need to flush out by drinking water. It will be painful at first, but after your 3rd or 4th time, there should be no more acid flush shock.

This should not so much be a 2-week plan, just something to work into your lifestyle a little at a time until you notice the changes. Enjoy the foods you already love to eat and drink, just introduce moderation and add these elements to prevent the ill effects of those foods.

BTW, beer contains a lot of nutrition...in the ancient times, it was served to Egyptian slaves to help sustain their strength. There's a guy on the web that claims he can live off of Guinness (with just a vitamin pill to complete the package). I wouldn't recommend it though. Beer has carbohydrates which convert to sugar, not good for acid reflux...but a great compliment to a meal. (Don't get me wrong, I like beer too.)
