Heartburn Causing Vomiting
I am 27.5 weeks and have such severe heartburn it causes me to vomit..any suggestions?
I actually have acid reflux, so even before I got pregnant I would vomit when the acid got so intense. (I don't think a day went by that I didn't) So I found it AMAZING that although I was still throwing up due to morning sickness, my heartburn had subsided for the most part for the first part of pregnancy. Well about a month ago it started coming back full force. I have been having to get up throughout the night to vomit because it is so bad, and a few times I guess I didn't wake up in time and awoke to acid or other liquid actually pouring out of my nose. (sorry if that is gross) I have a doc. appt. nex tuesday and I will ask him about it, but in the meantime does anyone have a suggestion? I eat tums and rolaids like you wouldn't believe and I have a temporary intolerance to milk...so I am lost here! lol

I'm 6 wks and already having same problem, because I had acid reflux before as well. Tums & Rolaids don't help me, the only thing I've found that helps me is Gaviscon, which is safe to take during pregnancy. Hopefully you can stand it - it can be pretty gross, the tablets sort of foam up when you chew them. But it is the only acid controller I've found that is safe to use. Better yet, it seems to help almost INSTANTLY. I just started using it this weekend... Mine had gotten so bad already that I had huge canker sores in my throat & mouth from all the acid.
