Heartburn Gas Constipation
Heartburn Gas Constipation
I think I'm pregnant, but the test i took was negative. Is it too soon to tell?

okay i've been having what i call night sickness for the past two weeks. i get really nauseous at night and have heartburn and tummy aches to the point where i can't sleep. i don't ever throw up just feel like i'm going to. i got my period on the 14th of january and it ended on the 17th. my guy and i had unprotected sex on the 17th. about 10 days later i started bleeding again but it was really light and only lasted for about 2 days. i'm nauseous, fatigued, cranky, having heartburn, gas, constipation and just starting today, diarrhea. I'm miserable but have taken a hp test that was negative. should i wait a few more days and try again? or should i just go to the doctor and get a blood test?

If the first day of your last period was on the 14th, you would have ovulated around the 28th of January, that would have been about the day you would have conceived.

If you 'conceived' on the 28th of January, you would have had implantation somewhere around yesterday.

If implantation only occurred yesterday, you wouldn't yet have any of these symptoms.

You period will come soon.

I wish women knew their bodies a bit more.

The Health Benefits of Fiber

Digestion has become more of a problem in our modern world than it used to be. With foods that are full of preservatives and lacking in the things that make them easy to digest, it's no wonder that we're plagued with heartburn, gas and constipation. Constipation is not much fun, but a long term cure is easily available to anyone who knows the way to a grocery store.
The safest, easiest way to cure constipation is not to pop laxatives. (That's not the best way to lose weight either, just in case you were wondering.) Laxatives can be helpful for emergency situations, but they aren't part of the long-term solution, and in fact can perpetuate the problem if they are taken for too long. The safest and most effective way to cure constipation is to get enough fiber in your diet.
Most adults get about 11 grams of fiber every day. This really isn't enough for most of us. Women need 21-25 grams of fiber, and men need a whopping 30-38 grams daily. This may seem crazy (especially if you're on a non-carb diet, which we hope you aren't) and but when you realize how many options you have for getting fiber into your diet, it will seem much less daunting.
Some fibers (insoluble) simply help to bulk up your stool and make it easier to pass through the intestines. Other fibers (soluble) help to slow down your digestion so that your body can absorb what it needs before the nutrients and the food are gone.
For constipation, the best things to eat are cereals, pastas, and whole grains, but they aren't the only good options. Most plants contain a certain amount of fiber, and for constipation it's a good idea to eat plenty of fresh fruits (especially citrus fruits), vegetables, and legumes (beans, peas, lentils), are wonderful for promoting healthy digestion. If you can't get enough fiber in your diet from the things you eat (fruits! vegetables! grains! nuts!) then it may be time to try a powder fiber supplement like Kellogg's all bran fiber drink mix.
For most people, increasing the fiber in your diet can help to relieve problems associated with constipation. However, if it doesn't work or if the constipation comes on suddenly and doesn't seem normal, see a doctor. It could a symptom of some underlying medical condition that needs to be taken care of post-haste.
