Is this a reaction to papaya enzyme?

I started taking papaya enzyme for heartburn. I worked amazingly well. Soon after I developed a rash on my lower abdomin on the right side by my upper thigh. It is bumpy, red, kinda itchy and burns a bit. I also, oddly have a burning sensation on my upper right thigh but no topical reaction. I stopped taking the enzyme four days ago but the rash and burning remain. Other than the papaya nothing is new. I tried researching this online but nothing fits exactly. The burning without topical reaction seems strange to me. It has been like that for four days. Anyone know anything? Or what I can do to help it go away? I tried hydrocortisone and benedryl but not consistently.
