Heartburn Purple Pill
I ordered Prevacid online from a Canadian pharmacy site, i received it today and the pill is white and red.?
Which i am not use of because the regular prevacid is pink and purple. Do any of you know of the generic prevacid and the color it should be? I just want to make sure i'm taking what i'm suppose too. Prevacid for heartburn, this is the first time i order online without a prescription, thought it would be easier this way rather. But i don't want to take something that isn't what it really is.....Any advice would be appreciated.
The generic name for Prevacid is Lansoprazole.
The reason the pill is white and red is because it is made by a different manufacturer. It probably also goes by a different brand name or something that may sound similar to the US brand name due to patent laws etc..
Make sure the label on the package says "Lansoprazole" next to whichever brand name is on the package.
Also, who is the manufacturer on the label? Read it and do a online search on the drug company and you will have your answer.
I think you should be relatively safe if it says Lansoprazole on the box/bottle/label.
