Have you taken 'Omeprazole' during pregnancy?

Hi everyone, I phoned my doctor this morning as I cannot put up with my heartburn anymore, its crippling me, I have it all day and its worse during the night, its keeping me awake which isn't good as I have to children to tend to during the day, I have tried everything..... ranitidine tablets, gaviscon, remegel, milk etc...but nothing is working for me, before I found out I was pregnant they were about to put me on a course of antibiotics to clear a probable ulcer but they aren't safe during pregnancy so I couldn't take them.

I googled 'omeprazole pregnancy' and all studies showed it to be safe but I was just wondering if anyone else has taken it and how did you get on

Im staying away from spicy foods and other foods that would trigger it but im getting heartburn no matter what I eat, Im only 4 1/2 wks pregnant so another 8 months of this would kill me!!

I am 31 weeks pregnant and have taken omeprazole the whole way through. I have a hiatus hernia so i have been taking it for the past 18months and the doctor told me there is no reason why I should stop taking it. I would recommend you talk to your doc about it tho. Good luck!
