Heartburn Ulcers
Heartburn Ulcers
does gastritis/ulcers EVER GO AWAY? its so annoying its like a frisbee?

I had h.pylori and ate tons of spicy food and that is what probably caused it. but now I am taking prevacid every morning and I am careful of what I eat but it still comes back! I don't necessarily feel acid or heartburn I get dull aches and it hurts alot sometimes I get restless because of the pain and can't relax. I ate some chips and apple pie and the pain is back. when does this freaking thing go away!

H. pylori eradication requires multi-drug therapy, typically antibiotics plus acid suppressants. Proton pump inhibitors suppress H. pylori, and the increased gastric pH accompanying their use can enhance tissue concentration and efficacy of antimicrobials, creating a hostile environment for H. pylori.

Prevacid/Lansoprazole is used to treat certain conditions in which there is too much acid in the stomach. It is used to treat duodenal and gastric ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition in which the acid in the stomach washes back up into the esophagus. Sometimes lansoprazole is used in combination with antibiotics to treat ulcers associated with infection caused by the H. pylori bacteria (germ).

You should go back to your doctor and discuss this. Prevacid alone does not eradicate H pylori.

Natural Heartburn Relief - Skip The Pink Liquid

Many people have sensitive stomachs and experience heartburn.  For quick relief they usually rely on those chalky antacid tablets or that bottle of pepto.  Not only do these remedies taste bad, they don't last very long either.  There are more natural heartburn relief options out there.

First, you can decrease your chances of getting heartburn by avoiding certain foods such as caffeine, soda, fried foods, tomato products (spaghetti sauces, pizza, salsa, etc.), alcohol and citrus juices.

Skip the big meals and switch to eating smaller meals more frequently.  A full tummy puts pressure on the sphincter located between the esophagus and stomach. Do not wait until you are completely full to stop eating.  Also, try eating a bit slower which helps with digestion and fills you up quicker.

Stop eating at least 3 hours before you retire to bed. This will allow your body the time needed to digest your food before you lie down.  Also, elevate your head 30 degrees when you sleep which will help keep food and acid down.

Chew a stick of gum for about 5 minutes.  This will produce more saliva which neutralizes acid and forces acid back down by making you swallow.  In fact, chewing gum is recommended by doctors as a solution to heartburn.
