Yoga Treatment For Acid Reflux or Heartburn
Yoga is a world renowned exercise regimen which is found to cure many diseases including heart diseases and spine related problems and various other conditions. Here are certain yoga poses which is found to cure acid reflux or heartburn if practised consistently and meticulously for a long period of time.
Pranayam (Breathing Technique)
The most simple and easy to do Yoga exercise is the Pranayama or controlled breathing. This can relieve you all stress and tension of day to day life. Over a period of time toxic buildups occur in the mucus linings of lungs and this exercise helps in reducing it. It also cleanses the blood and increases blood flow into the veins of the body, thereby giving a renewed energy in yourself.
Technique
Take a comfortable seating position and put down your shoulders and muscles or relax them to feel normal.
Inhale strongly pushing your belly forward also relax your abdomen.
Exhale by tightening your muscles in belly and push forward the air and let your abdomen go inside on its own.
There should not be any strain in your body or its muscles while doing this.
You can practise this anytime either before going to bed or whenever you feel stressed out, but try not to do it immediately after meals.
Relaxed Pose (Sukhasana)
This is a classic meditative pose used in relaxing the body and mind before start of major yoga poses and techniques targeting each body part. The relaxed Pose helps in straightening the spine, slowing down metabolism, promoting inner tranquility, and keeping your mind still.
Meow or Cat Technique (Bidalasana)
Cat pose technique teaches you to coordinate the movement of body center and breathing, which are considered the most important factors in yoga practice. Keep in mind that the Cat Pose may not be advisable if you have any chronic or recent back pain or injury.
Barking or Dog Technique (Adho Mukha Shvanasana)
The Dog Pose improves flexibility of your spine, stretches the hips and middle and low back, rejuvenates the body, and helps in preventing back problems. Take note that this Yoga Pose should not be performed if you have serious back pain or injury.
Twist Spine Technique (Ardha Matsyendrasana)
If done properly, the Half Spinal Twist lengthens and strengthens the spine. It is also beneficial for your liver, kidneys, as well as adrenal glands. Practice this Yoga Pose under the supervision of a Yoga instructor. In this section, learn how to perform the Half Spinal Twist.
Stress Relieve Technique (Pavanamuktasana)
