Levothyroxine Heartburn
first time alcohol - day after chest pain/burning.?
so last night i had my first night where i had more than a few sips of alcohol, i had a beer and a shot or two and scotch whiskey with soda, not even a whole cup, with a friend. we just got a buzz, not too drunk, and we even felt as if we were sobering up. we stayed up all night, and fell asleep around 7 this morning and woke up at 830. ever since, my heart feels like it's beating a little bit hard, like there's a pressure in my chest, and i'm a little nauseous. I took 2 Tums because I thought it was heartburn from the mcdonalds we ate last night, but now i'm getting really worried something's wrong, which of course is making the chest thing worse, and i'm probably doing it to myself
ive also been on levothyroxine for a few months, and miss a pill every so often and it's no big deal, i happened to miss it yesterday when we were drinking but i took my ill when we woke up today.
This is common alcohol withdrawal (or, basically, a hangover).
There is no need for immediate concern, however it is obviously not good for your health.
The best recovery is to rest, eat, and drink as much water as possible. Taking antacids often helps with settling the stomach as well.
