Pasta Heartburn

Dull pain that comes and goes just below the base of my breastbone?
It first started yesterday during a bowl of reheated pasta that wasn't reheated properly, which makes me think it's indigestion related. However, it is not in a place where I have had indigestion or heartburn before, and it is a dull ache and comes and goes. It gets very bad when I eat, as the food passes the point. I've taken Zantac , Imodium for another ailment which I'm sure you can guess related to the pasta, and I am also suffering from a sore throat due to a swollen gland for which I am talking Merocaine, which "can increase the risk of pulmonary aspiration by relaxing the gag-reflex and allowing regurgitated stomach contents or oral secretions to enter the airway".
Does anyone have any idea of what it could be?
Douglas B - That provided some very temporary relief. It allowed me to eat comfortably for about two or three minutes.
I think this and your sore throat are both related and when you get rid of one the other will be gone as well. The problem you are having is that there is a muscle under your chin that when it gets tight it narrows the passageway in your throat and can pull on the muscles all the way down your neck. That is going to account for sore throat, and the aches and all. Here is how you can release that muscle:
Under your chin:
Place your thumbs up under your chin near the front. Feel the muscle between them for as tight as it can be. Press on it and hold. Relax, take a deep breath and exhale and don’t tense up any part of your body. When the muscle starts to release, slowly look upward until your neck is fully extended. Then release the pressure but hold your head there for one minute longer.
If you get the relief I have gotten from that I would toss that med or at least put it on the shelf for now. That is dangerous stuff, kind of like if what you have doesn't kill you the drug company can. Good luck.
