Post Gallbladder Surgery Heartburn
problems after gallbladder removal?
i had my gallbladder removed on the 2nd of april this year and ever since i have suffered from diarrhea which (sorry to go into detail) is bright yellow which i have been told is due to the bile. i have also had problems with heartburn aswell since my surgery. has any one else had these problems after their surgery and if so how long did it last for? i saw my doctor last week but she just said to bare with it until i go for my post-op check on the 20th of this month.
Diarrhea is normal after gallbladder removal. I had problems with diarrhea for about 6 months after my surgery. You have to give your system time to adjust to an organ removal. After about month 6 my system seemed to be doing a lot better so I started trying to eat fatty/greasy foods again. I have not had a single problem with anything I have eaten since then. However, I was warned by my surgeon that everyone adjusts differently. Some people can't ever eat certain foods again because it makes them sick. Additionally, one of my friends had hers removed over 12 years ago and she gets diarrhea after she eats anything. So, it's completely up to your body.
