Prescription Acid Reflux Drugs

Could the prescription drug ACIPHEX be the reason I can't get pregnant?
My husband has been on this acid reflux med and since we've started have not been able to conceive. Do you think this is why? Has anyone been on a med and stopped and actually got pregnant??? thanks!
We have an appt next week with a specialist, and our primary said it doesn't affect anything, but I still wonder. My husband is going to try to stay off of it until next week to see how he feels, which I hope is okay...
I searched it online, and wasn't able to find any website (news, medical, or even just a personal blog) saying anything about Acipex contributing to their infertility.
Why not take a trip to the doctor? The doctor will be able to tell you for sure if there's any study he/she knows about regarding Aciphex and infertility. Plus, perhaps you and your husband could get some tests done to see why you're unable to conceive while you're there.
Best Wishes!
Acid Reflux Drugs: are They Effective?
Acid reflux is a disease that can happen to anyone. Adults, children and babies can develop this disease. But what should someone do about it? Luckily there are many treatment options available, from effective lifestyle changes to acid reflux drugs.
For those who are not aware of it, heartburn is the first symptom that most individuals have. If acid reflux remains untreated, it will get deteriorated. The other few symptom you will suffer from is is regurgitation, in which the food that you just ate will travel back to your mouth. The chest pain will get worse, you will experience having trouble swallowing your food, until of course, you might suffer from asthma, and when the acid reaches your mouth, it will naturally corrode your teeth.
But don’t worry. As mentioned earlier, acid reflux is a disease which can be treated, although it would greatly depend on the severity of the disease.
To treat acid reflux, you can turn to medical or surgical options. Both of these options work to help you get rid of your condition permanently.
One of the acid reflux drugs you can take are antacids. Most individuals with acid reflux take this more often, which comes in tablet or liquid form. Some prefer to take the liquid type because it is easily consumed. You can take antacids after you've eaten, probably after 30 minutes to one hour.
On the other hand, antacids in tablet form work by creating a foam-layer in the stomach to prevent acids from penetrating through it. To get the healing effects of these tablets, you should chew them very well first.
Other acid reflux drugs are histamine blockers. Histamine blockers obstruct the production of stomach acids by blocking the actions of histamine. Histamine is a chemical in the body that stimulates acid production in the stomach. Anti-histamines are available even without prescription and offers relief of symptoms in most of the patients with frequent acid reflux. You need to first wait for thirty to ninety minutes before you feel its effects, which onlylast for six to twenty-four hours.
Some medications act by strengthening the lower esophageal muscle, and this greatly reduces acid reflux. It is advisable that you first ask for your doctor's advice on the medicines you should be taking. The doctor can assess the severity of the acid reflux to give you the appropriate treatment.
Most doctors recommend a change in diet to those who suffer from acid reflux. Though this may be difficult to some, they have no other choice unless they want to worsen their condition.
