Acid Reflux late at night?

Ive been getting Acid Reflux like 1 o' clock in the morning when im laying down. What are some ways to prevent it?

i have hoorrrrrrible acid reflux. my problem is that i recently found out im also lactose intolerant! talk about irony...lol

chances are youve consumed enough acidic food or drink to give you this problem so heres a couple things you can do to calm your stomach and save your esophagus!

1. Drink a glass of milk before bed to neutralize the acid in your stomach

2. Eat ice cream, obviously has the same affect as milk

3. Take Zantac daily. I am prescribed to something similar to zantac that I take everyday, once in the morning, once at night. This creates neutralizes acid, as well as protecting the lining in your stomach from getting torn apart by the acid

4. Try other brand of heartburn and acid reflux medication like Prilosec OTC and Pepcid before going to bed. It takes a half hour for these meds to work but they should keep you sleeping through the night

5. DO NOT drink anything acidic. I absolutely love apple juice but it is my worst nightmare if I drink it before bed...

6. Try not to go to bed on an empty stomach, but stick to eating foods with basic qualities like saltine crackers, ice cream, yogurt...

7. Adding salt to your food will neutralize the acid as you eat it. I add a sprinkle of salt to my pizza

There are tons and tons and tons of things you can do. Talk to your doctor or, just look online even.

Regular intake of drinking water has been proven to help a lot in acid reflux prevention. Luke warm water helps to flash away any presence of acid that may be found in your esophagus. By doing this, you help your digestive system remain clean and prevent any possibility of acid flowing back to your throat and cause the burning sensation brought about by the acid.

Another way that you may be able to avoid this problem, is to stop smoking. It is said that cigarettes contain nicotine, a substance believed to be a major cause of acid reflux in people.
