Ways To Treat Heartburn
Ways To Treat Heartburn
yeast overgrowth in the body?

I have been suffering from indigestion/heartburn for years. I went to several types of doctors GI, ENT, etc, but no one can't seem to treat my problems. They gave all sort of medications including acid reducers, things to help me move my bowels more often, but nothing works. I finally went to a Naturalist doctor who told me to do a diet to eradicate yeast in my body. I stopped going because he kept taking more money and I feel I could not afford it anymore because I was paying out of pocket. I want to get rid of the problem because it not only cause digestion problems, but also bad breath. Anyone ever suffered from this problem and tell me how they got rid of it (I have been to a dentist so that's not the problem). By the way I am also pregnant.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about that. Ironically, those two things (acid blockers and laxatives) may have made it worse... but I'm glad you found a Naturopath that was willing to help (although was unfortunately too expensive).

Normally, I would recommend to go on a candida cleanse, but you generally shouldn't do that when you are pregnant or nursing. So, your best bet (and safest when pregnant) would be to stay away from sugars and baker's yeast for a while (at least until you've got the situation under control), take Caprylic Acid (found in Coconut Oil, it helps fight the yeast), and take a good probiotic complex to help fight against the yeast. You could take some Grapefruit Seed Extract to help cleanse the system a little, but I'd be careful about how much when you're pregnant to be on the safe side.
That should help you to cleanse out the yeast within a few weeks to a few months (depending on just how bad the overgrowth is). Once it's passed and gone for a couple weeks, you could pretty easily just cut down to having just a daily probiotic (to keep the yeast down) and you should be good enough to start eating sugars and yeast again... but as with everything, I wouldn't go overboard.

Yogurt does have some probiotics in it, but unfortunately, there aren't anywhere near enough in there when you've got a yeast overgrowth problem... you'll need a much stronger probiotic that you'll only find in a supplemental product.
Good luck!
